Ample Warning

I thought you might like to make a note of this in your diaries:

Monday 23-Sunday 30 November 2009

is the First

NATIONAL ANTIQUES WEEK

There has been a National Antiques Day for some time, but following feedback from national and regional antique dealers' associations this is to become National Antiques Week.

The theme for the week will be

"Antiques are Green"

All members of WEADA (The West of England Antique Dealers Association), of which Dairy House is one, have been asked to promote the week and encourage people to think more about investing in antiques as part of the campaign. Other Associations across the country will be participating, too, so look out for details of activities in your area.

I'm not sure yet what we shall be doing at Dairy House, but watch this space to see plans unfold. Any suggestions gratefully received. I had thought it would be a good time to finally arrange a bloggers day, but realise that the November Vintage & Handmade Fair is at the end of the week, so we shall all be making our way to Chipping Sodbury rather than Semley on the Saturday! But we shall certainly be doing something ...

Update: I stand corrected ... the Vintage & Handmade Fair at Chipping Sodbury is on 14 November and NOT Saturday 29 November. How did I manage to get that wrong?!

  1. Yes, I like the template and the colours and its simplicity (fussy and colourful would be entirely inappropriate). I didn't even know there was an antiques day but am all for an antiques week. I did start another blog just for my website several weeks ago but haven't got further than the header!

The V&H Christmas Fair is on the 14th not the 30th!!

  3. I think the new (very smart) blog is a good idea. I mean to visit Dairy House again soon, and only wish I could take a space there. If not sooner, I look forward to seeing you at the August Shepton Flea! Wishing you the very best success, C.
